iOS 10 launched back in September, but no jailbreak tool for it has been released yet. The last jailbreak from Pangu Team was launched all the way in July, when they released a jailbreak solution for iOS 9.3.3. Despite the lack of updates, it is now reported that they will launch an iOS 10 jailbreak very soon.
According to Neurogadget, it is possible that Pangu will launch the iOS 10 jailbreak during the holidays this year. This will work not only for older devices but also on the brand new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, which launched alongside iOS 10 in September.
However, the report further points out that this potential release window is not final, given that Pangu had not made any official statements.
Even if the Pangu team releases a jailbreak tool for iOS 10, and even if it caters to phones already updated to iOS 10.1, Apple may not be affected by the acts of piracy. According to Morning News USA, Apple is already preparing to launch iOS 10.2 this December, and it may undo any jailbreaking efforts made by Pangu Team.
According to the report, the lack of a jailbreak is a little shocking, given that iOS 10 has shown numerous bugs and issues. Some of these include security concerns, which should, in theory, make it easier for the hackers to work on a jailbreak solution.
It is stated that Pangu might be waiting for Apple to release iOS 10.2 before they release their jailbreak tool. This will ensure that they can work on the added security features of iOS 10.2, and it will also ensure that the jailbreak tool will work for iOS 10, 10.1 and for 10.2 all at the same time.
The Pangu team has yet to make an official announcement and any confirmation with regards to their release schedule. As it stands, fans should take the information of a December release for the iOS 10 jailbreak with a grain of salt until Pangu makes a statement.
