While fans already expect a new flagship from Huawei this year, previous rumors placed the upcoming Huawei Ascend P9 to be unveiled by March at the earliest. However, there are new speculations that place Huawei to be unveiling the new flagship as early as this week, prior to the opening of this year's Consumer Electronics Show.

Meanwhile, another speculation that floated online said that the new P9 might carry a massive 6-GB RAM.

According to Phone Arena, a prediction out of China from industry analyst Pan Jiutang said that Huawei plans to showcase the new P9 during the 2016 CES, and not in a separate March event as previous rumors have predicted.

In addition to the stated unveiling date, the analyst also mentioned that the Huawei P9 will come as a pleasant surprise for everyone, particularly the tech-savvy fans of the lineup. Apparently, the P9 will come out with a massive 6-GB RAM.

Meanwhile, GSM Arena said that prior to this year's Consumer Electronics Show, Huawei scheduled a press event, as stated in the press invites already released by the company. The event is scheduled for today. The industry follower stated that since Huawei already had a press event even before the curtains go up for the 2016 CES, the company might be planning to unveil its new flagships at the said pre-CES 2016 event.

If the rumors about the 6-GB RAM are proven true, then Huawei will introduce a new level of flagship specs showdown, since the P9 will be the first one to have massive memory integrated in the unit.

Meanwhile, Gadgets 360 reported that aside from the massive 6-GB RAM, Huawei planned for the P9 to be a high-end, premium flagship, featuring a 5.2-inch QHD display and the latest Kirin 950 processor.
