True to its promise to bring the new 10 flagship to the global market as early as possible, HTC is reported to be planning the rollout of the HTC 10 in the U.K. starting May 6.
GSM Arena reports that the May 6 date comes from the release date set by mobile carrier Three U.K. Previously, the major operator already revealed that it will be the first carrier to offer the new HTC flagship. In fact, Three opened pre-orders for the new HTC 10 last month, just weeks after HTC unveiled the HTC 10 on April 12. The contract with Three is an upfront payment of £49, regardless of what plan a user is thinking of getting. This means that the payment will be on top for the base plan of £38, coming out with unlimited minutes and texts, plus 1GB of data per month.
Other operators have yet to confirm the HTC 10 as an addition to their devices. Meanwhile, online retailer Amazon U.K. mentioned that it will also be offering the HTC 10 starting this Friday.
The dates for the release of the new flagship concur with HTC's promise of bringing out the HTC 10 in the early days of May. Just recently, it was revealed that HTC is also planning to release the unlocked version of the HTC 10 in the U.S. this week. This means that fans will be able to use the HTC 10 either as an unlocked version or with carrier-specific SIM. This is good news to those waiting for the HTC 10 but is on AT&T contract, since the mobile carrier has said that it will not be carrying the new flagship.
Meanwhile, apart from AT&T, other major carriers like Verizon and Sprint have confirmed that they will be offering the HTC 10.
