Netflix original series "House of Cards" season 5 is almost here. With only a couple of weeks left before the premiere date of the hit series, many fans are now speculating about how it will go considering showrunner Beau Willimon has departed from the series.

IndieWire provided an in-depth review of "House of Cards" season 5 episode 1, titled "Chapter 53." According to reports, it looks like the screenwriters of "House of Cards" weren't able to ignore the results of the recent U.S. election. Scenes of Frank's (Kevin Spacey) fight to rule with fear looks like something very akin to modern politics, with President Donald Trump on the top seat of the country.

As terrifying as the idea of Frank turning into Trump may be, IndieWire further reveals that he will soon face situations and circumstances where his decisions and courses of action would arguably be preferable over the president's current actions.

One specific scene calls to mind the Trump parallelism. According to the Independent, there's a scene in the first episode where President Underwood makes an address that's basically an aggressive call for the country to go to war. If that sounds familiar, fans would definitely remember President Trump's apparent disregard for professionalism and policy protocols.

"House of Cards" season 5 may make it to the headlines especially if the Netflix original series will rake up more viewers and ratings due to its potentially controversial nature. And if President Trump realizes the parallels and similarities between him and President Underwood, then who knows what will happen to "House of Cards."

Though no one has said anything about ending the series, the current political climate may affect the fictional universe of "House of Cards" in its fifth season. Try as the screenwriters might, with a TV series created from the premise of politics, they won't be able to ignore the current state of politics.

"House of Cards" season 5 will air May 30 on Netflix.
