"The Grand Tournament" is set to greatly add to current number of cards in Blizzard's card game, "Hearthstone."
As of now, the official number of new cards coming to "Hearthstone" is said to be 132, according to PC Magazine. All 132 of the new cards set to be added by "The Grand Tournament" can be obtained through winning them as prizes in the game's Arena Mode, or purchasing them using either in-game gold or real life money.
"The Grand Tournament" will be drawing inspiration from the "Argent Tournament" update that was recently released for "World of Warcraft." Given what the expansion is based on, players can expect new cards and other kinds of content that will prominently feature the jousting and mounts theme. Blizzard has said that given the differences between "Hearthstone" and "World of Warcraft," fans can expect a more lighthearted pack of new cards coming via "The Grand Tournament" update.
Some of the new cards coming via "The Grand Tournament" expansion have also been identified, according to Polygon.
First off is the new Coldarra Drake card. This card will enable players to use their hero powers repeatedly in any given turn for as long as their mana allows them to do so.
Another new addition is the Maiden of the Lake card. This new minion card will give players the ability to lower the cost of their current hero power all the way down to a single mana crystal.
Last up on the list of new cards that have been introduced in detail is the Skycap'n Kragg. This new charge card will cost one less for every friendly pirate minion currently being used.
"The Grand Tournament" will be available on personal computers (PCs), tablets, and smartphones starting next month. Players can already pre-order the expansion pack as a 50-pack bundle starting next week for the price of $49.99.
