'GTA V' Casino DLC rumor: expansion details under wraps?

 Rockstar

Rumors of a new expansion for "Grand Theft Auto V" have been floating around since last year, as players want new content particularly for the single-player feature of the title. However, it seems Rockstar Games is keeping things tightly under wraps, as those who are connected to the franchise themselves are unaware if there will be new content or not.

According to VG247, the rumors of a new expansion for "GTA V" surfaced anew after Shawn Fonteno, who played main protagonist Franklin, posted a picture of himself in a motion capture suit with Rockstar Games posters as a background. This led to speculations that there is an ongoing project for "GTA V."

However, other actors were reportedly unaware of the development. The industry follower quoted Ned Luke, who played Michael de Santa in the franchise installment, as saying that as far as he knows, there is no expansion in the pipeline. Luke added, "Don't know when it's gonna happen or if it's gonna happen."

Although the actors themselves are not into the loop if there will be new content for "GTA V," rumors coming up from supposed leaks continue to float online. According to Inquisitr, the latest DLC speculation stemmed from supposed hidden codes in the 1.13 update of "GTA V."

Allegedly, the codes pulled out from the update point to an upcoming "Casino" DLC, and the expansion is said to be a major one for the title. The industry follower mentioned that should this "Casino" DLC roll out, previously inaccessible buildings in "GTA V," particularly closed-down gambling parlors, will be active once again. In addition, players can reportedly stake their in-game cash for "GTA V" gambling with real-world rules, in games like blackjack, poker, and slots.

The industry follower added that although there is no confirmation yet on the DLC, hints and teasers have already been reported by hardcore fans. Reportedly, the latest DLC for the title's online feature, "Executives and Other Criminals," also contained hints at the upcoming "Casino" DLC.
