'GTA 6' release date and possible cast rumors

 Rockstar Games / Take-Two Interactive

While players are still enjoying the fifth installment of "Grand Theft Auto," rumors about "GTA 6" have already start to come out online.

Rumors claim that Rockstar Games will not release the sixth installment of the best-selling action-adventure game until 2018. This speculation stemmed from the tradition of the gaming studio to release a new "GTA" game every five years. Since "GTA 5" was released in 2013, it is assumed that its successor will come out in 2018.

Meanwhile, a report from CrossMap discussed a rumor about the possibility of having a new female lead character in the game, which could possibly be portrayed by actress Eva Mendez.

The report cited an earlier statement from RockStar co-founder Dan Houser in a 2013 interview with The Guardian. He said, "In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course, we just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things we always think about."

Some speculations also claim that Mendez's real-life partner Ryan Gosling will also have a role in the alleged "GTA 6" installment.

Other rumors about "GTA 6" are compiled by GTA6GrandTheftAuto. Some of them include the possible features of the game as well as its expected platforms.

According to the unofficial "GTA 6" website, there is a clamor to have a retro-inspired "GTA 6" after the fans expressed their wishes to see the scenes from the 1970s since the decade has the perfect setting to add mafias in the game.

There are also reports claiming that "GTA 6" could add more money-making missions like robbing banks and joining the police or the military.

It could also add more interesting vehicles like monster trucks, including the Hot Rods, 1950s Chevy Pickup Truck, 1950s Ford Pickup Truck, 1967 Shelby GT500, or the Chevy SS Camaro.

Rockstar Games has yet to release an official statement regarding "GTA 6."
