Golden Globe Awards 2016: Start time, TV channel, nominees, and presenters

The 73rd Golden Globe Awards kicks off this Sunday and audiences are excited to know who will win on the first major awards show of the year.

The nominees were announced back in Dec. 10, 2015. Among the contenders for the Best Motion Picture-Drama are "Carol," "Mad Max: Fury Road," "The Revenant," "Room," and "Spotlight."

People are also excited to know who will bag the trophy for Best Actor and Best Actress in any Motion Picture.

Competing for the Best Actor-Drama award are Bryan Cranston (Trumbo), Leonardo DiCaprio (The Revenant), Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs) and Will Smith (Concussion).

Cate Blanchett (Carol), Brie Larson (Room), Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn), Rooney Mara (Carol) and Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl) are nominated for the Best Actress-Drama category.

The winner for Best TV Drama series is also a much-anticipated announcement since "Empire," "Game of Thrones," "Mr. Robot," "Narcos," and "Outlander," were all nominated. It's going to be a tough battle in this category.

The event will run for three hours and will be live streamed from NBC. Ricky Gervais will return to host the show again. This will be Gervais' fourth time to host the Golden Globes.

On Tuesday, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced that Amy Adams, Channing Tatum and Mel Gibson are among the first presenters of the awards.

They will be joined by Patricia Arquette, Jaimie Alexander, Jamie Fox, Jim Carrey, Amber Heard, Kate Hudson, Bryce Dallas Howard, Helen Mirren, Eddie Redmayne, Julianne Moore, Olivia Wild, J.K. Simmons and Kurt Russell.

Catch the 2016 Golden Globe Awards on NBC, which will be broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday, Jan. 10, starting at 8 p.m. ET.

The red carpet arrivals that will reveal the gorgeous outfits the celebrities will be wearing will be featured on E! starting at 6 p.m. ET.
