'Gears of War 4' release date to finally be revealed? what to expect

Gears of War 4 The Coalition

Will the upcoming installment in the "Gears of War" franchise finally get a release date?

According to The Bit Bag, a forum user uploaded a page from the upcoming issue of Xbox Magazine, which is a spread on the upcoming "Gears of War 4." With it comes the tag "Everything Changes Again." Reportedly, the highlight of the upcoming new game will be introducing a new feature for third-person shooters and will again set a standard in the genre, just like how the original "Gears of War" game introduced the interactable cover system in shooters.

In addition to the spread, the magazine itself will reportedly feature an 18-page special about the upcoming title. The industry follower surmised that one of the details that may be revealed in the issue is the specific release date of "Gears of War 4."

Previously, the upcoming title only had a general release window, with reports saying that the game will be released in "holiday 2016." That was then changed to "fall 2016" in a recent livestream broadcast by Microsoft. However, there is still no specific release period for the game to date.

The industry observer added that while fans may need to wait a bit longer to confirm a release date for "Gears of War 4," lucky hardcore fans will get a chance to get an early glimpse of a game via a slated spring roll-out of the "Gears of War 4" beta.

Outside of the specific release date, however, Microsoft has okayed some bits and pieces about the game being leaked. According to Express, Xbox head Phil Spencer already has a sample of "Gears of Wars 4" but stressed that even they at Xbox do not know all the details to the game, as developer The Coalition is still keeping a lid on the project.
