The year 2018 is already here and it is very promising in terms of technological advancements, so "out with the old, in with the new" is something very fitting for many tech companies' attempts at presenting the latest gadgets to the market.

This doesn't seem to be the case for electronics company Hyperkin, however, as they are planning to prove that nothing can beat a classic.

The company recently announced its intention to revive the classic handheld and reintroduce it to the gamers of this generation with numerous improvements. Hyperkin is known to produce cost-efficient models which translates to friendlier prices for the buyers. But for their own version of the Game Boy — which they are reportedly calling the "Ultra Game Boy" at the moment, they don't seem to be planning on holding back with production.

According to tech website Gizmodo, the Ultra Game Boy comes with an aluminium casing; a big difference from the original Nintendo version's plastic cover. This will ensure that the device can withstand a lot of punishment from nicks and scratches, drops, or possibly even the owner's fits of rage.

The device's power source has also been modernized, as the UGB will have a six-hour battery. This may not sound much compared to the original, but the catch? It will now be rechargeable. The UGB will now have a built in C-port to allow charging, eliminating the need of scrambling to the nearest convenience store just to get fresh batteries.

The device will also have an additional dial that will let users adjust the intensity of the backlight or turn it off altogether. This is both a power-saving feature and a way to protect the user's eyes from too much brightness.

The UGB is scheduled to be released in summer this year and is priced at $100.
