Warner Bros. announced in April that they have earned the rights to bring the widely-popular indie point-and-click horror video game "Five Nights at Freddy's" to the big screen, but no further details have been released since then.
At the moment, the only information provided regarding the development of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" film is the list of names of people who will produce the movie, including "The Ring" and "The Grudge" producer Roy Lee, as well as Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg who both produced "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter."
The producers will work with game creator Scott Cawthon to make sure that the movie will have all the same terrifying but oddly lovable elements of the game that all players enjoy.
First released in 2014, Cawthon's "Five Nights at Freddy's" series now includes three horrifying games. It is not clear which one of these games will be adapted in the planned film, but loyal fans of the games are already speculating about the plot of the movie, including the alleged continuation of "Five Night's at Freddy's 3" wherein players need to assume the role of Fazbear Fight's new employee. There are also rumors claiming that the film will deal with a possible backstory that will show why the Purple Guy murdered a young child outside the vicinity of Fredbear's Family Diner.
But it seems that Cawthon has yet to start working on the film since he is still busy developing the next game in the franchise called "Five Nights at Freddy's 4: The Final Chapter," set to be released on Oct. 31. A series of creepy teasers were already released to show what players should look forward to when the game comes out in time for Halloween.
More details about the movie adaptation of "Five Nights at Freddy's" are expected to surface soon.
