Game company Square Enix was full of pride when it revealed the array of video games it will be releasing for the current fiscal year. While many stellar titles and sequels are included, the list is missing the highly anticipated and most sought-after action role-playing video game, "Final Fantasy XV."
"We expect the competitive environment to be tough, with our competitors announcing big titles in the E3 in June. We believe our titles can fully compete with these big titles, however, as I will explain later, we have been conservative in our forecast for FY2016/3," the company said in the report.
The game studio's releases spanning from April 2015 to March 2016 still does not include the title and a release date for it has yet to be determined. One thing is for sure about this aspect, though — it won't come anytime soon so it looks like the grueling wait for "Final Fantasy XV" won't end this year.
Good thing, Square Enix is keen on keeping fans up to speed about the development of the title. The next Active Time Report where game director Hajime Tabata will share new info about the game is scheduled June 4. Tabata said not too long ago that the team is at 60 percent in its production of the title.
Marketing manager Akio Ofuji will also grace the event, which starts 6 a.m. PDT (9 a.m. EDT) and will be broadcast via YouTube and Twitch. Together with Tabata, Ofuji talked about gamers' grumbles on the "Final Fantasy XV" demo in the most recent Active Time Report held back in April.
It is hoped that in this streaming event, the two execs will be able to shed some light on the release date of the much-awaited title. And although "Final Fantasy XV" is unlikely to enjoy the spotlight during Square Enix's conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo on June 16, it is still exciting to see some cool stuff about the company's other projects.
