Mod support for "Falout 4" has been available for PC and Xbox One players for some time but issues and glitches have caused the PS4 mod support to be indefinitely delayed. Bethesda Softworks' marketing executive Pete Hines addressed this issue in an interview with Metro.

"All I can say is that the 'Fallout 4' PS4 mod program is undergoing an evaluation process and as soon as it's done, and we have more info, we're gonna let everyone know," Hines explained without further elaboration. "It's definitely not that we've decided not to do it, we absolutely, positively want to get PS4 mods out as fast as humanly possible."

The interviewer notably asks if it was Sony that was responsible for the delays but Hines refused to answer and simply stated that the company was determined to get mod support out for the PS4 and that this has become a top priority for the developers.

Gamespot notes that mods are not made directly on consoles. Instead, they are made on PC and then Xbox One players can download them. It is speculated that this will also be the case for PS4 players and there will be a special UI in the game that will allow PS4 users to connect to the mod database.

Hines also confirmed that Bethesda Softworks was likely going to be present during E3 2017 in order to showcase some of their new games. The report also points out that director Todd Howard had revealed Bethesda was working on "big and crazy" projects at the time being, other than the upcoming "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition."

Many fans speculate that this could mean a new "Fallout" spin-off or even "The Elder Scrolls VI" or it could be a brand new IP that the company will unveil during next year's E3. However, as stated by Hines, the company is currently prioritizing the launch of mods for PS4.
