'Dragon Ball Super' episode 59 spoilers, news: Zamasu kills Kai Gowasu

Zamasu from the "Dragon Ball Super" Toei Animation

The evil of Zamasu and Goku Black continue in the hit anime series "Dragon Ball Super" series.

A report from Attack of the Fanboy reveals that episode 59 will see Zamasu murder one of the Kaioshins, potentially to steal their Potara earring.

The episode is titled "Protect Kaioshin Gowasu, Destroy Zamasu," and the preview trailer showcases Zamasu serving a meal and green tea to Kai Gowasu in Universe 10. However, a few moments later, Gowasu drops the cup of tea, and it is heavily speculated that Zamasu may have poisoned him.

Goku, Beerus, Whis, and the others immediately motioned to go to Universe 10 in an attempt to save Kai Gowasu, but according to the synopsis for both episodes 59 and 60, the group might be too late. Because of this, Zamasu may have gained the Potara earring that only Kaioshins are qualified to wear and use.

According to the report, Kai Gowasu may indeed have been killed off, and to get things back in order, Beerus is reportedly going to destroy Zamasu in episode 60. However, even with present-day Zamasu defeated, Future Trunks is not so sure if it would have affected the future, and so, he travels back to the future to check on how events in the timeline have altered.

It is hinted that Zamasu may have somehow survived or may have been planning the events all along, that when Future Trunks heads to the future, he will discover that it has not changed, and both Zamasu and Goku Black still in charge.

Given that Zamasu is a former Supreme Kai apprentice and shares the same Ki as Goku Black, fans speculate that there are more mysteries to be solved about the character, and this may be why the show is keeping him alive for the time being. He is also rumored to have created Goku Black using the Dragon Balls, but this has yet to be proven on the show.

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 59 is scheduled to air on Sept. 25 at 9 a.m. JST on FujiTV.
