Many of us feel uncertain about the future.
We don't know what will happen to us tomorrow, and wonder if it'll be good or bad for us.
Because us this, many of us worry about what the future holds. We fret and wear ourselves out with anxiety, and even ask,
"Does God really care about me and my future?"
Well, dear friends, He does.
God cares about your future
Friends, many of us just don't know God. The Bible tells us that God is a good Father who has nothing but what's good for us.
As God, He is ultimately powerful and nothing can stand against Him. As Father, He is very, very loving and wants His children to be secure in Him.
Truth is, God knows our future even before it happens to us:
"Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them." (Psalm 139:16)
We may not know what our future is, but God knows. In fact, He doesn't just know our future -- He has plans for our future:
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)
We may think that even if God does have plans for our future, how can we be assured that they are good? That's because He is a good Father, like I said earlier. Jesus Himself assures us,
"Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!" (Matthew 7:9-11)
So, what are the good things that God has prepared for our future? Good things, of course! In fact, if we truly love God, we'll be truly amazed at what He's got in store for us in the future:
"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." (see 1 Corinthians 2:9)
In closing
Friends, God is good, and because He is good and He loves us, He has nothing but what is good for us all the days of our lives. It's a truth we can always rely on and hold on to no matter what happens.
The question now, however, is not "am I assured of good things from God in the future?" It's a totally different question that we should ask ourselves:
"Do I love God, and trust in His goodness and love, enough to follow Him all the days of my life?"
