Game giant Blizzard has formally announced that April 5 marks the end of season 2 of their massive role playing game "Diablo 3," and the Friday after that, April 10, will mark the start of the third season.
The date for the old season's conclusion is the same worldwide, albeit at different 9 p.m. time zones. However, season 3 will start on April 10 at 10 p.m. Pacific for North America, and 6 p.m. CEST and KST for Europe and Asia, respectively.
As with the end of the very first season, there will be a season rollover period. Seasonal heroes will roll over into the main account, along with the equipped gear and stashed gold. In addition, all non-duplicated items in the inventory, shared stash, Achievements; Artisan recipes, blood shards, and paragon levels will also carry over to the player's main account. However, conquests will be lost since it cannot be converted to non-seasonal heroes.
Hardcore gamers who achieved reward requirements will enjoy a variety of goodies and items once season 2 ends and the next season starts. All players who have reached level 70 during the season will be able to get the exclusive Boots and Pants transmog items. These can be immediately accessed once a season hero has reached level 70 by visiting the Mystic Miriam and accessing the Transmogrification tab.
There are also numerous banner rewards for players who earn Achievements. Rewards are based on the number of Achievements the player has, and will have corresponding banner items, from Banner Shape to the highest point-reward, a Banner Sigil.
In other "Diablo 3" news, there is a rumor that since the second season is nearing its end, the roll over period would also be the time for the next patch to be released. Patch 2.2 is still on its testing phase, but recent changes such as rebalanced class skills and additional new legendaries suggest the test is nearing completion and the update is ready to roll out.
