'Detective Conan' chapter 947: The quest for the lost marriage license ends; another mystery appears

 Funimation

The crime-solving abilities of Conan and his friends continue in the latest chapter of the crime and mystery-solving manga.

The latest chapter, 947, sees Conan continue to solve the mystery surrounding a lost proposal for a marriage license. In the opening pages of the chapter, Conan solves the mystery of the password when he realizes that the paper thrown in the garbage bin serves as an important clue. When folded into a crane, the folds concealed a message to solve "the square root of five," and when Yumi tries the answer as the password, a new password screen pops up.

Going back to the "crane in the garbage," Conan and his friends try to analyze the paper once again, this time with Genta thinking that the new images seem to form a sake cup for some reason. While the friends bicker, Conan finds another clue that makes the image a "dakuten," or a symbol used to change the pronunciation of Katakana.

The second password entered is the square root of three, which Yumi rounds off to eight digits. However, instead of a climactic result, the second password just turns the webcam of the computer on. However, this also seems to be a ploy, as Yumi finds out that there is an envelope in her jacket pocket, the marriage form itself.

Yumi then decides to take a taxi to deliver the form in person but is stopped with a call from Chuukichi. They are already late in discovering the document, as the Shogi match has already been decided, with the Taiko Meijin deafeated.

While going home, Yumi realizes that they would have to wait a year for another marriage license form to be filled out, since an Osho game is held only once a year.

The chapter closes with Conan discovering that Chuukichi's step-brother, Haneda Kouji, is in some way connected to the detective himself since his name came up on the APTX 4869 list, the same list where Conan's "Kudo Shinichi" also appeared.
