New gameplay footage for "Dark Souls 3" showcases the new combat system in the upcoming game.
The footage was debuted earlier this week at Gamescom.
The gameplay videos shown during the event attempt to give fans and players a clearer picture of how battling will be in "Dark Souls 3."
Thanks to the videos, fans were able to get a firsthand look at the new enemies they will have to deal with in "Dark Souls 3," according to iDigital Times. The in-game footage even provided fans with a sneak peek at one of the new boss enemies coming in the game, the one known as the Dancer of the Frigid Valley.
Aside from providing fans with an idea of what their new foes will look like, the gameplay footage also showed off the world inside "Dark Souls 3."
As for the gameplay itself, Gamespot reported that the new "Dark Souls" game is more fast-paced than earlier entries in the franchise. The web site goes on to suggest that the gameplay in "Dark Souls 3" now more closely resembles the one in "Bloodborne," which means that players will now be tasked with exercising more patience and being more thoughtful with each move they make in combat.
A new gameplay wrinkle, known as Arts, is also being introduced in "Dark Souls 3." Arts will enable players to display a more varied attack without having to switch weapons, but usage of this new feature will be limited to only 20 times between bonfires. The Arts feature is said to be similar to the Trick Weapon transformations in "Bloodborne."
"Dark Souls 3" sharing a lot in common in "Bloodborne" is not being seen an accident considering that Hidetaka Miyazaki has returned to lead the development of the new game, according to The Guardian.
"Dark Souls 3" is currently being projected to be released in 2016.
