'Criminal Minds' season 11 spoilers: BAU deals with an abduction case in 'Hostage'

"Criminal Minds" continues to captivate viewers with intense and clever plotlines, no wonder the show has maintained its strong ratings.

The previous episode featured a story of a twisted relationship between a mother and her son. The case involved victims who were stabbed to death and tied to a urinal in the restrooms in truck stops.

It was revealed that the son was a product of rape and the mother was out to seek revenge, particularly on truckers. Since her ultimate victim had died several years ago, she stopped killing and was sent to a prison asylum. However, her thirst for murder lingers on that she let her own son do the dirty work for her.

In this week's episode, the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) will deal with a familiar case, one that they've handled several times in the past. Based on the synopsis, Hotch's (Thomas Gibson) team will investigate a kidnapping case and pursue the unsub, who had taken away three women and held them captive.

Titled "Hostage," an 18-year-old girl manages to escape from her abductor, who kept her in a suburban home for years. It will be interesting to eventually know the motive of the unsub or if the other victims will make it alive in the end.

So far, the midseason premiere episode, in which Aubrey Plaza appeared as a guest star, is the most captivating episode for this season. But now, fans are looking forward to the episode that will focus more on Shemar Moore's character, Derek Morgan. The episode titled "Derek," which will air on Mar. 2, will have Danny Glover as guest star. Gibson also directed this particular episode.
