'Borderlands: The Handsome Collection' new patch details

Developer Gearbox just released a new update for its "Borderlands" series, particularly the "Borderlands 2" and the pre-sequel "The Handsome Collection" titles. The new version is available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

For the Xbox One version, a hot fix now automatically applies before the game loads. Players have an increased collect radius when there are multiple items to be picked up in an area, and legendary item drop rates have been adjusted. These hot fixes are always loaded when the game is loading, and so players must connect to the Internet when playing.

Updates for the title include stability fixes and game improvements. The update also brought the needed fixes for different graphics issues in-game, especially the menu stretching across the screen after a player opts out of a split-screen play. Also fixed is the inventory glitch, where player item count is inaccurate when the inventory is opened in split screen mode.

The update also improved online multiplayer connectivity on the Xbox One.

For the PlayStation 4 version, the same general improvements were also released. In addition, the hot fixes that are part of the Xbox One update are also incorporated on the PS4 version of the game to smoothen out glitches and improve connectivity online.

There are also new features exclusive only to the Sony platform version of the game.

First, the controller Touch Pad can now be used by players to navigate the map screen in-game. In addition, the update also fixed different controller vibration issues and improved SHIFT connectivity in-game.

Capping off the PS4 update, the controller's Light Bar now changes color based on the elemental effect of the player's currently equipped weapon.

Aside from the update to "The Handsome Collection," Gearbox has also released an update for the "Borderlands: The Presequel" game on the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
