'Bones' season 12 spoilers: synopsis teases wedding, deaths, and the ending

 Fox

The crime procedural drama, "Bones," has been renewed for season 12 which is also confirmed to be the final season for the show. Fox has also released the official synopsis for the season which teases key storylines in the episodes to come.

According to the synopsis, the final installment will be made up of 12 episodes, and the season will give a proper send-off to Booth (David Boreanaz), Brennan (Emily Deschanel), and the rest of the Jeffersonian-FBI team. It is also stated to include key events such as the death of a character and a wedding.

The IBTimes point out that the wedding is more than likely to be between Dr. Camille "Cam" Saroyan (Tamara Taylor) and Dr. Arastoo Vaziri (Pej Vahdat). It is also hinted that it will be a small wedding, particularly when compared to the big wedding celebration of Booth and Brennan.

It is uncertain who among the characters is going to be killed off in the final season. The IBTimes also points out that the death teased in the synopsis might not be a death in the core group, but death associated with the cases they are investigating, such as the victims of the criminals they are chasing after.

Part of the synopsis also teases another episode where Booth and Brennan will have to go undercover. In a previous season, the duo had to go undercover as they joined an old Wild West shooting competition. It is hinted they will again be taking disguises as part of an investigation in season 12.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that actor Eddie McClintock will be returning to portray FBI agent Tim Sullivan. The actor made the announcement himself via Twitter. His character is bound to cause some trouble or drama for Br given the fact that he is Brennan's ex-boyfriend.

"Bones" season 12 is set to premiere sometime in early 2017.
