Beyonce and Jay-Z announce new summer tour

Hip-hop artists and superstar couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z have announced that the "On the Run II" tour is a go, which means that the two will be touring together for the first time since 2014.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z mounted the first "On the Run" tour in 2014, when they were promoting their individual respective albums titled "Beyoncé" and "Magna Carta Holy Grail." More recently, there were rumors that the two might tour together once again after fans spotted an "On the Run 2" posting on Ticketmaster and Beyoncé's official Facebook page. Even though the posts were immediately taken down, some fans were able to grab screenshots.

Days later, on March 13, the couple finally made an official announcement that "On the Run II" is indeed happening. Beyoncé posted photos promoting the tour on her Instagram account, and there is also a trailer announcing the presale and sale dates for tour tickets.

However, it is currently unknown which albums will be promoted on the new tour. Beyoncé's latest album, "Lemonade," came out in 2016. Meanwhile, Jay-Z's latest album, "4:44," came out in 2017. More recently, the couple appeared together on the DJ Khaled track "Top Off" alongside rapper Future.

In a rare interview with the New York Times, Jay-Z revealed that he and Beyoncé had worked on new music together. The rapper explained that at the time, Beyoncé's album had already made significant progress, so she focused on putting that album out first. However, the music the two collaborated on is still there.

Thus, there is a possibility that Beyoncé and Jay-Z may come out with a joint album. Even so, it is unknown whether this new album will be promoted on the "One the Run II" tour, or if it even exists already as an actual album.

Fans who want to see Beyoncé perform live before the tour commences will be able to catch her next month as she headlines Coachella. However, those who want to see both husband and wife on tour can start buying tickets soon. Presale is on March 14, while the actual ticket sales are on March 19. The tour will be hitting 15 cities in Europe before commencing the North American leg of the tour, which will include 21 cities.

Ticket payment details and tour dates can be found here.
