Barack Obama appears in the first episode of 'My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman' on Netflix

Former United States President Barack Obama will be the the first guest in David Letterman's return to the interviewing business in the new web television talk show on Netflix titled "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman." A recently released clip of the pilot episode shows Obama talking about the time he broke out his "dad moves" when he and his daughter Sasha met the late singer-songwriter Prince.

The interviews will "take place both inside and outside a studio setting," Netflix said in a statement via CNN. "The conversations are intimate, in-depth and far-reaching, with the levity and humor Dave's fans know and love. Field segments will bring Dave to locations far and wide, expressing his curiosity and desire to dig deeper on a specific topic related to the iconic guest featured in the episode."

Letterman has previously said that he does not miss the grind of a nightly show. With that in mind, AZ Central reports that Netflix will present new episodes of the show with different guests every month. Actor George Clooney, actress Tina Fey, activist Malala Yousafzai, television persionality Howard Stern, and rapper Jay-Z are among those named to be future guests of the show.

Obama has laid low since leaving the White House last year, appearing only in a few public appearances and a radio interview with Prince Harry of the British Royal Family recorded in September and broadcasted in December.

Netflix announced the "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman" series in August. Letterman has been off television since leaving "The Late Show" on CBS in 2015. Obama appeared in "The Late Show" in 2009, becoming the first president to make an appearance on the show.

"My Next Guest Needs No Intrduction with David Letterman" can be streamed at Netflix.com on Jan. 12 at 1:01 a.m. Arizona time.
