"Avengers: Infinity War" is set to see the titular heroes finally go up against Thanos (Josh Brolin), and it will focus on the heroes from Earth such as Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Captain America (Chris Evans). However, new rumors suggest that Peter Quill, who is also known as Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), is joining, too.

Star-Lord is the leader of the Guardians, as shown in the film "Guardians of the Galaxy" and its upcoming sequel "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." Their adventures in the first film did put them in direct conflict with Thanos, but there were no indications that the hero from a far-off galaxy may be coming back to Earth to aid the Avengers.

However, a report from Schmoes Know states that an inside source reveals he will indeed have a sizeable role in the film and that "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will even include some of the Elders. One of them is the Collector (Benicio del Toro), who appeared in the first "Guardians" movie, and the Grandmaster, who will be introduced in "Thor: Ragnarok."

Despite it making sense that Star-Lord would aid the Avengers since he already went up against Thanos and because he is originally from Earth, neither Marvel nor the Russo brothers, who are directing "Infinity War," have confirmed this detail.

James Gunn, the director of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies, also shot down the rumor of the Elders appearing in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." The report on Schmoes Know has also been put down which puts into question the credibility of Star-Lord coming in "Avengers: Infinity War."

Gunn also notes that he is baffled by the report and questions who is giving false scoops to film journalists, further indicating that there is no truth to the appearance of the Elders or Star-Lord aiding the Avengers.

Fans can only find out for sure when "Avengers: Infinity War" opens in theaters on May 4, 2018.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
