The Gunners shocked everyone when they defeated Bayern in their match two weeks ago. Arsenal had lost both their opening games of the group stages, and everyone had expected Bayern to hammer the first nail into the coffin of their European hopes this season.

However, a 2-0 win has put Arsenal back in the running, although they have a long way to go to ensure they capture one of the top two spots in the group to progress.

The first game a fortnight ago was at the Emirates Stadium in London. Today's game is a hugely different challenge for the Gunners, who must travel into the lions' den to face Bayern Munich on their home turf.

Arsenal are expecting a strong reaction from their German counterparts in today's match, with defender Per Mertesacker saying: "We were the first team to really challenge them and beat them. They will want to prove that they are better than us."

However, the Gunners have a stream of top players out and unavailable for today's game, including: Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Hector Bellerin, Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, Aaron Ramsey, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky.

Arsenal's win over Bayern was the German champion's only defeat this entire season so far out of their 21 competitive games to date.

Whether the English Premier League team can repeat that result remains to be seen, but a win at the Allianz Arena would be an even greater shock than their win at the Emirates two weeks ago.

At the moment Arsenal are level with Dinamo Zagreb on three points in Group F, with Bayern Munich tied for the top spot with Olympiakos on six points.

Today's massive Champions League game between Arsenal and Bayern Munich has a scheduled start time of 7.45 p.m. GMT (2.45 p.m. ET) and can be watched online through live stream by clicking here.
