Android Lollipop 5.1.1 update for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge on T-Mobile now

 Samsung

Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge recently got an operating system upgrade from T-Mobile. The Android Lollipop 5.1.1 update, which is available for download now, includes several performance improvements, glitch fixes and numerous new features. The latest feature additions include photo manipulation settings, organizing apps in an alphabetical order, motion effects for wallpapers and removing S Finder and QuickConnect from the notifications tab.

After launching the camera and tapping on a subject, the user will be presented with a slider that provides exposure and lighting controls. As follows, adjusting the light bulb on the slider will either increase or decrease can either dim or brighten the about to be taken picture. The this feature update, unfortunately, does not support raw images.

In lieu of better organization, the new update included an alphabetical arrangement for apps. The option will be presented when users open the quick settings through the notifications. Once the apps are organized alphabetically, even if new apps are downloaded and installed, the alphabetical arrangement of icons will persist and will not change unless the user chooses another arrangement scheme.

The recent update also allows the removal of QuickConnect and S Finder from the notifications, which is by far one of the much-awaited changes for the new Android version. Both apps take a huge chunk of space beside the notification shade. Easily do this by unticking the boxes for both apps after accessing the edit options for the notification shade.

As mentioned, motion effects for wallpapers were also added. Called the Parallax 3D Live wallpaper, this feature breathes new life to abstract images by presenting them in 3D. Users can choose their own custom photos. The whole experience and feel that the new feature gives can very subjective.

Perhaps the biggest feature of this latest update is the Guest Mode. This was specifically developed for cases when other people borrow the phone. When set to guest mode, the owner's messages, photos, apps and other files cannot be viewed or accessed. A simple way to keep the user's privacy and prevent others from seeing wht they are not meant to.
