Samsung's Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users in South Korea can finally rejoice as the waiting game for the latest Android firmware has ended. Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has been rolled out to the devices over the weekend.
The update was released following a beta test program for users to test the beta Marshmallow firmware, Sam Mobile reported.
The new firmware brings different changes to the user interface of the Galaxy S6 series. It also introduced fresh features such as the Google Now on Tap and Doze. More importantly, the Marshmallow update enhanced the device internally to allow it to perform much better.
The same news portal reported some of the highlighted changes brought about by the firmware update based on the beta test program. There was a revamp on Samsung's app icons. There is also an option for users to download brand new themes quickly just by narrowing down their search through their preferred color palette.
Other changes include all-white status bar and quick toggle menus; a minimalist power menu, which was noted to be not quite impressive; and a new option for the shutter speed in the Pro mode of the device's camera.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is currently available to the S6 series, but it shouldn't be long before users of Galaxy Note 5 in South Korea will also experience the changes from the firmware update.
As for users of S6 series in other regions, they may need to wait as Samsung has not announced an exact release date for the update rollout. But since the firmware update has started its distribution to different devices in South Korea, a release to other markets is imminent.
