The Nexus 6P from Huawei was among the first devices to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it seems to be a no-brainer to find it as among the first ones getting the slightly bumped Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system (OS) that has quietly become available.
Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow has now come out and among the highlights of the said OS is, of course, the arrival of new emojis. There are about 200 new emojis that come with the update that will also render an entirely new layout for the Nexus 6P phone owners.
New emojis for "flags", "sports," and "food" are now present, as mentioned from Ars Technica. That update also brings the double-tap power camera launcher shortcut as well as a new Google Keyboard.
Aside from these features, Blorge reveals that there will be a new security patch and more features to expect.
In all, the features that Android 6.0.1 M carries are not dramatically a big bump if compared to the Android 6.0 M, which has yet to cover most devices to date.
Such include a slight improvement on the battery management feature its predecessor carried. With the Android 6.0.1, it seems that the battery loses only four to five percent overnight, with the device good for use for an entire day.
And then there are the other features that may not be necessarily new such as the Google Now on Tap feature; a fix for the text message and/or picture bug; and better WiFi as well as Bluetooth connectivity.
For the Nexus 6P owners, remember the golden rule when downloading the latest Android OS update when it does become available. Make sure the device is amply charged by at least 50% and ensure that it is using a reliable WiFi connection.
Word of the Android 6.0.1 M hitting the market came out earlier this month but for Android One devices, the ones usually offered in developing markets and from local companies such as Cherry mobile (Philippines).
