Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S4 Spark on Sprint rolls out

One of the reported last-gen Samsung devices that can get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

Sprint is giving its Galaxy S4 Spark and Note 2 customers some Android 5.0 Lollipop loving after recently releasing the said update last May 8.

The said update comes three months after that controversial release which saw the update come out and then recalled for the Galaxy S4 Spark due to some LTE issues. This time however, it doesn't seem like that occurrence will happen again.

Sprint customers who have the Galaxy S4 can look forward to getting the version L720VPUGOD2 while for the ones who have the Galaxy S4 Spark variant will be getting the L720TVPUCOD2. Among the features that would be included is the Factory Reset Protection.

Curiously, the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy S4 comes roughly after a month after a firmware update was released for the Samsung Galaxy S5 by US Cellular. With the update, Galaxy S4 owners can look forward to the much talked about features Android 5.0 Lollipop brings. That includes Google's Material design interface, on and off toggles, onscreen notifications, floating action buttons and a reported improved Samsung TouchWiz service.

The availability of Android 5.0 Lollipop may not immediately notify Galaxy S4 users. Hence, it would be best to head on over to the Settings option, click on About Phone and then System Updates to make sure. If after refreshing and no updates are available, just wait a couple of days.

People who want to get the update can download Kies from the Samsung website and do a manual installation.

With regards to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, it seems that users are currently distraught on whether the device would be getting and Android 5.0 Lollpop bump as well.

However a tweet coming from Samsung Danmark reveals that the update will indeed be coming but only for select regions. On which regions would be blessed with the Android 5.0 update was however not revealed.
