While waiting for the return of "Alaskan Bush People" season 8, fans of the reality series stalk the social media accounts of the Brown family in hopes of getting an update about Ami Brown. It was already confirmed that the Brown matriarch is fighting lung cancer after being diagnosed with the illness last year.

Last month, Rain Brown posted on her Instagram account that her mother is getting her second round of chemotherapy. The said post has an image of a mug and some plant therapy oils. Rain said that she is making peach tea and essential oils with her mother during that time. It appears that Ami is also trying natural therapy. To make the oil, Ami combined frankincense, eucalyptus, pink grapefruit, and spearmint.

Since Rain did not disclose her mother's condition, the fans were worried. It was previously reported that Ami's doctors conveyed to her that she only has three percent chance of survival. Despite the negative news, Ami remains positive and hopeful that she will still get well. Ami's faith in God is one of the factors that made her strong.

In the posts of visitors in the "Alaskan Bush People" page, fans requested an official update regarding Ami's condition, but Discovery remains mum over the matter. Even the Brown family has not released any official statement regarding Ami's health and her rounds of chemo.

After the announcement of the "Alaskan Bush People" Christmas special, no clear statement has been issued by the showrunners of the series. Even Ami's presence in the series remains unsettled as well.

For fans who are looking forward to seeing the Brown family, the upcoming special episode is set to air on Friday, Dec. 15, at 10 p.m. EST on Discovery. TV Insider reveals that this episode will feature the Brown family in Colorado. The Christmas special is titled " A Browntown Christmas" which was filmed around the week of Halloween 2016.
