To pump up fans on the imminent "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 premiere, which is happening tomorrow, Sept. 29, ABC treated them with a clip of the first four-and-a -half minutes of the season opener titled "Laws of Nature."
In the video, the unwarranted propagation of the Terrigen Crystal has spawned chaos. Joey, who has accidentally exposed himself to the destructive, power-endowing element, will discover that he now has the ability to melt metals, which makes him a monster in the eyes of people.
His newfound powers also leads him straight to the Advanced Threat Containment Unit, which is apparently prepared to go full-on lethal to any Inhuman on the loose. In the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 premiere sneak peek, the group attempts to shoot Joey to stop him from threatening the city.
As they try to gun him down, an unexpected ally shows up just in time. She starts flinging Joey's pursuers in every direction and even effortlessly hurls a vehicle with a simple hand motion to stop them from getting to him.
Skye, who now goes by her real name Daisy, understands Joey's dilemma, and so she uses her evident mastery of her ability to bring the confused and frightened Inhuman to safety and hopefully teach him control his powers.
While the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 premiere preview still makes it hard to believe that Joey is completely safe from harm, it does show that Skye will be of great help to him. His powers should be useful at some point if he knew how to use them.
As teased in the unbelievably elaborate "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 synopsis, Skye and Agent Coulson, who is shown wearing what is deemed a robotic arm in place of the Terrigen-infected one, will pull together a band of super-powered individuals to aid the agents in protecting the planet.
With the new enemies rising to power in the upcoming season, a team "stronger than ever" is needed to keep this world out of harm's way. Someone like Joey and Daisy will certainly be of help.
