When it comes to powerful trucks needed for off-road adventures, people easily think along the lines of Jeep Wrangler or Ford Raptor. But at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show on Thursday, Ram reminds the audiences that its Power Wagon also belongs to the list of powerful performance trucks.

Ram has unveiled a revamped 2017 Power Wagon that has its exterior and interior tweaked to make it appear manlier and more commanding.

The 2017 Ram Power Wagon adopted the appearance of the Ram 1500 Rebel and it's also based on the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Crew Cab. The Power Wagon has been given enhancements, such as over two inches of lift, a 12,000-lb winch and a unique suspension, to make it perform better specifically for off-road adventures.

"The Ram Power Wagon is an off-road, all-access pass, removing the limitations, instilling confidence and allowing owners to reach areas of recreation and lifestyle not attainable with any other pickup," Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand and Ram Brand, FCA – Global, said in a press release.

"The 2017 Ram Power Wagon delivers to those who travel into extreme terrain, while providing the towing and payload capability required in a heavy-duty truck," Manley added.

The 4x4 pickup truck has a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that produces 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. Coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission, the engine gives the Power Wagon a boost with the capability to tow up to 10,030 pounds of weight. When cruising along the highway, which doesn't require the truck's most powerful configuration, the truck's "Fuel Saver cylinder-deactivation technology" will shut down all four cylinders for fuel efficiency.

In terms of interior design, the Power Wagon receives upgraded seats, steering wheel, dashboard, and rubber mats perfect for those who like to go on rough and muddy terrains. For pricing, Ram has not issued announcement on figures but the Power Wagon is expected to become available in the fourth quarter of this year.
