Jaguar is dipping its hands in unfamiliar territory as it tries to see if the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace can do well in the SUV segment.

That niche is normally in the corner of its corporate brother Land Rover, but with the need to grow sales and draw some other sources of earnings, Jaguar is pinning its hopes that an SUV (a first of sorts for the luxury car brand) can jack up its car sales numbers.

But looking over the F-Pace, it does seem to show a lot of promise. Clad in an aluminum skin which covers an alloy-intensive platform, the Jaguar F-Pace does seem to be something that can appeal to the SUV-loving car enthusiast.

It comes packed with a sane 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine that packs 340 horsepower (hp) which should make sure that the said SUV does not lack the power needed.

Complimented with modern day engineering, the lightweight make of the Jaguar F-Pace makes it a whole lot easier to handle, particularly for the ones who have concerns as far as the fuel consumption that an SUV takes in.

Aside from that, there are a whole lot of features to look forward to. That includes advanced features like cruise control, visibility controls, and automatic recognition of traffic signs that should contribute to safer driving behind the wheel. Hence, not only is it packed with power but also with features that will boost the safety concerns as far as everyday commuting is concerned.

The 2017 Jaguar F-Pace is expected to hit the market by the fall of 2016 but as a 2017 model. The starting price for it will reportedly start somewhere above the $40,000 mark. The supercharged version may, however, come in at a slightly higher cost of probably more than $50,000.

Could the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace outpace and give other SUVs a run for their money? Well, see for yourself if the video below can convince you.
