Microsoft has revamped its backward compatibility schedule for the Xbox One. When it launched, backward-compatible games were added each month. However, recent changes have been made so that now, backward-compatible classics get added to the growing list as soon as they are available.

Recent additions include franchise games from the "Star Wars" universe. Seemingly coinciding with the "May the Fourth be with you" theme, Xbox One players can now add "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" and "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II" to their games libraries. The two "Star Wars" games are now playable on the current-gen console, and as with previously owned classics, the new additions will show up in the "Ready to Download" area on the "My Games and Apps" tab on the Xbox One. For those who haven't owned the games prior, there is an ongoing, timed exclusive sale where the two "Star Wars" games can be purchased for $4.99, down from its regular price tag of $19.99.

Meanwhile, the two "new" classics join other recent additions on the backward-compatibility list. The number of games under the program continues to grow, and in April and May alone, almost 20 games have been added, including "Texas Hold 'Em," "Doom 3 BFG Edition," "Rayman Origins," and "Duke Nukem Manhattan Project."

The list has been a mix of both Xbox 360 classics and triple-A titles. One of the recent additions to the triple-A backward-compatible games include the original "Dark Souls." The game has been added as part of the franchise bundle as an introduction to the recently released "Dark Souls III." Meanwhile, there are other confirmed triple-A titles that will make it to the list, although a specific release date has yet to be issued. Confirmed triple-A classics include "Call of Duty: Black Ops," the three games under the "Bioshock" franchise, and "Skate 3."
