Worship, Worship, Worship for Tim Hughes

|TOP|British worship leader Tim Hughes will be hosting the Passion For Your Name festival this year, an initiative of youth ministry Soul Survivor.

The festival will take place on 18 to 23 August, in Shepton Mallet, with guest speakers and worship leaders including Tre Sheppard, J John, Martyn Layzell, Jonny Parks, Brother Andrew, David Westlake, Mike Pilavachi, Jo Saxton, and more.

Hughes will continue to host summer festivals at Soul Survivor, as he settles as a Worship Director in Holy Trinity Brompton Church.

In other news, a new album and autumn tour awaits the popular worship leader.

Hughes will join British band Delirious? on ‘The Mission Bell Tour’ in UK throughout October and November.

|AD|Hughes commented: "Christians across the country are discovering just how strong the links are between worship and justice. With the world looking for answers to the injustice of poverty and suffering, this tour comes at an important time for us Christians."

"Touring the UK is always special," explains Martin Smith, lead singer of Delirious?, "but there's something about these next 13 dates that we're all particularly hungry for. The chance to see the church uniting, praising and going out to serve a world in need is a huge privilege."

Hughes revealed in an interview with Christian Today that he will record his new album in July and August, and that he is “hoping it will be out in England by October”.

“It will probably be released in America in January 2007,” he added.

In addition, Hughes will focus on Worship Central, a new worship training programme for worship leaders. The first session, which was held 6 May, attracted around 700 worship leaders and trainees. The next session takes places 23 September.

“We’re going to do monthly podcasts and retreats — there’s one on February and one in May,“ Hughes shared with Christian Today.

“We have six Saturdays (worship training days) planned for next year, where we will present different teachings. The heart is to find as many ways possible to resource worship leaders and musicians to strengthen the church.”
