World Evangelical Alliance Calls All Christian Leaders to Unite

The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) has commenced its campaign to draw as many evangelicals as possible to its gathering in May 2005. The gathering will be titled, 'Move the Stones – The Power of Alliance' and will take place from 3-6 May 2005 in Orlando, Florida.

The WEA report that, "like no other time in history, God’s people are facing major global issues on every continent. And as Evangelicals, we have never had greater opportunities to impact the nations with God’s love."

The May gathering will look to unite North American evangelical leaders with senior WEA leaders from every major region of the world. The WEA have said that the gathering will be focused on "advancing God’s Kingdom."

During the three day consultative event, the WEA will try to help evangelicals from all parts of the world be:

- Encouraged by the stories of the advancement of the church around the globe.
- Informed from an "eagle’s eye" view of the challenges and opportunities facing
every major region of the world.
- Engaged in a strategic planning process to use our collective resources and
influence to transform the nations by the power of God’s love.
- Equipped with greater understanding of how your organisation or congregation
can leverage its impact locally and globally by connecting with Evangelicals through
the power of alliance.

The event will be attended by WEA’s senior regional leaders, International Council members, executives from commissions engaged in Religious Liberty, Missions, Women’s Concerns, Youth, and Theology.

In addition, affiliates working with Children at Risk, HIV/AIDS, Poverty, Refugees, and Saturation Church Planting will help to make the gathering a truly worldwide evangelical event.

The head of the Evangelical Fellowship of Asia, Godfrey Yogarajah, is also scheduled to deliver an exclusive first-hand report on the tsunami relief efforts.

All key Christian leaders are welcomed to attend the event, which will also be co-sponsored by the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (EFC). For more information and registering for this WEA event please visit www.worldevangelical.org
