Warner Bros. recently announced the release dates of upcoming DC-based superhero movies.
The film studio issued a press release last week confirming the release date for "Wonder Woman," and "Justice League: Part One," which will debut on June 23, 2017 and Nov. 17 of the same year, respectively.
Followers of the Amazonian super heroine already know of the tentative release date when it was first announced in October last year.
"Wonder Woman" is currently filming and it is so far the only movie with that release date. "Justice League" will be released on the same day as its rival, Universal Studios' "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas," Comic Book reported.
"Wonder Woman" cast includes Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Connie Nielsen, and Lucy Davis.
Gadot stars as the titular character, the feminist Amazon warrior created by William Moulton Marston. Pine plays the U.S. Army intelligence officer, Steve Trevor, who is Wonder Woman's longtime love interest in the comic books. Nielsen plays Queen Hippolyta, the mother of the main protagonist.
The rest of the aforementioned cast members have undisclosed roles as of the moment.
To entice fans more, the first footage of the movie was released last week. Based on the clip, the Patty Jenkins-directed movie is somewhat diverting from the established theme of making the character appear in World War II. Instead, the Amazon princess blends in with the mortals in World War I.
Gadot will appear once again in "Justice League" and reprise her role. The league of superheroes will make their first appearance ever on-screen on Mar. 25 during the premiere of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
"Justice League: Part One" will also see Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), and Ray Fisher (Cyborg) reprising their roles. This movie will be directed by Zack Snyder.
