"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" is considered as one of the most anticipated games of 2016.Developers are already finalizing the production of the game, but bad news for fans — the release was delayed.

"Uncharted 4" was slated to release on Mar. 18, 2016, but Naughty Dog's creative director Neil Druckmann announced on Twitter that there's a new scheduled release date for the game.

Druckmann and video game designer Bruce Stanley announced on the PlayStation Blog last Dec. 23 that the game's release in North America has been moved to Apr. 26, 2016.

Druckmann also explained the reason for the delay. He started off by saying that more time is needed to complete a game that meets their "standards and vision."

"A Thief's End" is considered the largest installment to the "Uncharted" franchise and the team has been putting a lot of their effort so that the project will be complete as scheduled, he said.

But Druckmann admitted that as they are nearing their deadlines, they realized that "several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line."

Surprisingly, Druckmann also posted a follow-up tweet saying that "#colinwasright." This is in reference to the post that KindaFunny co-founder, Colin Moriarty, posted on Twitter last September, predicting that "A Thief's End" will not stick to the Mar. 18, 2016 release date.

Some expressed their dismay on Druckmann's Twitter announcement and blog post since some fans are just eager to get their hands on the game. However, there are also several fans who were totally fine with the delay, saying that delays would only mean that the game is expected to exceed the players' expectations.

Meanwhile, "Uncharted's" protagonist, Nathan Drake, recently got a collectible figure of himself made by collectibles company NECA.

NECA also confirmed that the character's look is based on his appearance in "A Thief's End."

The company posted a photo of the work-in-progress collectible figurine on Twitter last Dec. 23. There's no exact release date for the toy, but it should arrive sometime in spring.
