UK Ministry Provides Tailor-made Bible Study for the Passion Film

Sheffield, England--- After the screening of The Passion of the Christ in UK cinema yesterday, evangelical ministries in UK have started various outreach programs through the rush for the film.

Word-on-the-web ministry will begin to send short Bible study to its subscribers on Saturday, 3 rd April. The material guided Christians to look at scenes from “The Passion of Christ? as well as verses from John’s gospel. Issues to be tackled will include: the alleged anti-Semitism of the movie, theories about Jesus?death on the cross, and the challenge that the movie presents, both for believers and non-believers.

A filmgoer, Anon Singtothong, 27, originally from Thailand but now lives in west London, said, "I wanted to see the film because I wanted to learn more about Christianity, and I think I have done that." Another lady May Najjar said the film offered something to all religions.

From an interview with a filmgoer, Mr Majed Najjar, said the film had affected him deeply.
"In a nutshell, it was brilliant. It has stuck very closely to the Bible story and that is exactly what I wanted to see.

"I feel shattered now, totally exhausted, but the film has given me a sense of peace."

Revd Dr Andrew Goddard, tutor in Christian Ethics, Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, comments the film, “Gibson is respectful and, though selective, faithful to those accounts and the Bible's message of Christ's redeeming love.?

“Many who see the film will want to read the book and rediscover the Gospel according to Matthew, Mark, Luke or John rather than according to Mel,?Dr Goddard expects.
