Tottenham (Spurs) vs Monaco live stream (Preview, Start time): Watch Champions League soccer 2016 online

Tottenham (Spurs) will host Monaco in their opening Champions League game on Wednesday night, and will be hoping to get a win to immediately put them in a strong position to make the knock out stages. Today's game takes place from Wembley Stadium in London, and has a scheduled start time of 7.45 p.m. BST (2.45 p.m. ET). The game can be watched online through live stream via the link below.

Spurs have organized to move to Wembley for their home Champions League games, and although that may be exciting for some, others have suggested the change in venue from their regular home could have a detrimental affect on the players who will be playing in a foreign environment.

The reason Tottenham have moved to Wembley for their Champions League encounters is because their White Hart Lane stadium in north London currently has a reduced capacity due to work being done on creating a new stadium.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has tried to allay any fears there will be any negative affect on his team, saying: "We need to behave naturally and not try to find an excuse, that's never good. It's a chance to play on a big pitch."

Some fans may remember that Arsenal also moved to Wembley for their Champions League games for two seasons in 1998 and 1999, and that experience did not end well. The Gunners only managed two wins from their six home games at Wembley, and clearly had an issue with the different sized pitch and alien environment.

Pochettino added about the Wembley pitch, "You have more space to play, it's more difficult for the opponent to press you when there are more meters to run.

"We trust in us. We feel good at White Hart Lane because it's our home and we need to feel good at Wembley."

Tottenham have gotten off to a reasonable start to their new season, winning two and drawing two of their opening four Premier League games, and they will be hoping they can make home advantage count today to claim all three points against their French opponents.
