'Tom Clancy's The Division' update 1.2 rolls out with new content and hotfix

 Ubisoft

Ubisoft has rolled out a new update for its latest first-person shooter game, "Tom Clancy's The Division." The new patch, Update 1.2 is dubbed the "Conflict" update and adds new features, content, as well as improvements for the game.

In the patch notes posted by Ubisoft, most noted in the new patch is the introduction of a new "Incursion" mission. The new playlist item, "Clear Sky," is a mission that can be unlocked in Columbus Circle. However, as with the other missions on the "Incursion" list, "Clear Sky" is only available for players level 30 and above. One of the new features of the latest "Incursion" addition is an auto-balance gameplay for mission encounters, even for a versus-play of four team members per team equipped with high-level gear.

Meanwhile, although the new mission is already live, "Clear Sky" can only be played in regular and hard modes. The other staple "Incursion" gameplay, Challenge Mode, will be unlocked for "Clear Sky" at least a week after the May 24 update.

The new Update 1.2 is also welcome news to hardcore "The Division" players, as it addresses known issues and bugs. With the new patch going live, a hot fix has been issued for the talent exploit. According to EuroGamer, this glitch has long been a nuisance for hardcore players, since the bug basically makes even a rookie character powerful enough by stacking talent effects even in an on-going mission.

However, while the new patch addresses known bugs and glitches, it may have also opened a new can of worms for "The Division" players. GameSpot reports that some players say that the new update accidentally deletes characters in the game. While Ubisoft is still investigating the issue, the glitch is familiar to some, since this is not the first time that characters went missing after an update. Last month, some player characters were also deleted temporarily, as one of the Ubisoft servers got corrupted.
