Tim Tebow performs 'Eye of the Tiger' Rocky-style in 'Lip Sync Battle'

"Lip Sync Battle" has a new contender this week, and it's none other than the Christian football star, Tim Tebow.

Tebow may have been actively seeking for work with his NFL position as a quarterback, but the 28-year-old athlete dedicated his time to appear in the popular lip-synch competition on TV.

Although the episode has not aired yet on Spike, a clip was released by the network that had viewers staring in awe at his performance. The former Florida Gators starting quarterback is seen dancing, throwing jabs, and lip-synching to "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor.

As seen on the video (below), Tebow's lip-synch performance was coupled with Rocky Balboa-style moves — jump ropes, shadow boxing, and simply showing off his brawny build. While showcasing his awesome jump rope skills, commentator Chrissy Teigen was impressed as she let out a "whoa!"

The 6-foot-3-inch football free agent then takes off his jacket, as rival, "Vampire Diaries'" Nina Dobrev in a jersey, and show host LL Cool J cheered in amazement. He then continues with his jabs in the air, showing off those muscles.

While everyone in the room is screaming with excitement, it can easily be noticed that Tebow is not quite the lip-sync performer. Anyone can spot that at some point during his performance, the athlete tends to forget that he's supposed to appear like he's singing. It's probably because Tebow is too preoccupied with showing off his physical fitness routine.

How this performance will end up remains to be seen. People have yet to know the results and it's going to be exciting as the face that is usually seen in the football field now appears onstage with a group of back-up dancers.

Tebow is not the first athlete to showcase faux singing abilities in the hit Spike competition. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson performed in season 1 with Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off," which was notably entertaining. Michael Strahan, Nick Young, and Deion Sanders also joined the competition in previous seasons.

Don't miss performances by Tim Tebow and Nina Dobrev on "Lip Sync Battle" this Thursday, Feb. 4, at 10 p.m. EST on Spike.
