Fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new expansion for "The Witcher 3" now have a date on their calendars to mark down.

The first major expansion for "The Witcher 3," known as "Hearts of Stone" will be available starting Oct. 13, according to Polygon. It is expected to be launched on all three platforms at the same time.

"Hearts of Stone" will reportedly be providing about 10 hours of new content for players to experience. In the new expansion, players can expect to see new monsters, characters, and even a new Runewords system.

Since it is an expansion, "Hearts of Stone" will also be giving players all new missions to complete.

In the expansion, Geralt will be traveling to the city of Oxenfurt to finish a job he was hired for by an individual who identifies himself only as the Man of Glass. Once there, Geralt will be tasked with taking down a man named Olgierd von Everec, but that could be a challenge given that he is known to possess the power of immortality. To aid in the completion of his mission, Geralt can enlist the help of some break-in artists, according to IGN.

Just like in the main game, the choices players make in the "Hearts of Stone" will affect how things will play out.

CD Projekt Red, the game's developer, has also revealed that players can apparently take on the missions from "Hearts of Stone" even as they are making their way through the game, but they will only be granted access to do so if they are already above level 30.

The "Hearts of Stone" expansion will be available for $9.99.

"Hearts of Stone" is just the first of two major expansions planned for "The Witcher 3."

The second expansion, known as "Blood and Wine," will be coming out early next year. The second expansion is expected to provide around 20 hours of new content to the game.
