A new trailer of "The Surge" has been released by Deck13 Interactive prior to the game's release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on Tuesday, May 16.

The latest trailer of the upcoming sci-fi action role-playing video game centers on its gameplay details.

Based on the new gameplay trailer, "The Surge" will not be the typical hack-and-slash game since players will have to venture into a thoroughly strategized attack plan to succeed in the battle.

According to the game's description posted on its website, "The Surge" provides a hardcore experience that centers on difficult primitive melee combat. It also comes with new flighting, looting, and crafting mechanics together with brand-new character progression system.

In an interview with IGN back in February, game design head Adam Hetenyi described what players should look forward to in the game.

"Our combat has hard and light attacks, horizontal and vertical attacks as well as the ability to target specific body parts," Hetenyi stated. "That makes each fight more tactical and allows you to choose whether you want to fight in a more technical way that focuses on different body parts or a more straightforward way that simply targets an enemy's weak spot."

He also said that players will be able to select the weak spot of the enemy from a case-to-case basis to provide something new for the players.

Aside from the gameplay trailer, reports also claim that the upcoming game will come out with support for the new PlayStation 4 Pro with 4K resolution. It will provide up to 30 FPS or up to 60 FPS for those using 1080p-supporting consoles.

While the game will not come with an HDR support during its release, reports also claim that it may possibly come later in the game.

Players can start pre-ordering the game to get bonuses until its release date next month.
