'The Sims' 4 release date, preorders: Price confirmed, will arrive on PC and Mac

During the recently held E3 2014, the release date for "The Sims" 4 was confirmed. It will arrive on PC in North America on September 2 this year. As for the Mac version, there's still no official release date.

At the press conference of E3 2014, the publisher shared that there will be plenty of new gameplay features for the new installment. According to Trusted Reviews, EA said "In the Sims 4 for the first time, you control their hearts. You'll be able to influence their emotions and how they behave with other Sims."

EA added that "This is a deep simulation where every Sims has their own story and they are all connected. What you do with one Sim will affect the lives of others within your neighborhood." In "The Sims" 4, each Sim personality will create a richer story that's interconnected.

How deep, rich and weird are the Sims now? Back in "The Sims" 3, each Sim already has personality traits that you can alter. According to Cinema Blend, EA has gone deeper with the emotions and personality of each Sim in the new installment. Your choice will now affect the Sim's moods and reactions.

There's a new way to die and it's not as gruesome as you'd hoped. Sims can now die laughing, literally laughing until their hearts give out. Also, players should watch out for the color of the Sim's ghost this time around as the color varies depending on how the Sim died.

The Grim Reaper also has a new way of organizing things, particularly the souls he collects. And what better way to keep track of things than the Grim Reaper using an iPad.

As for the Mac availability, EA said they're focused on the PC version, Cinema Blend reports. "We have nothing to say regarding other platforms," said an EA rep.

"The Sims" 4 is already available for pre-order. The limited edition is priced at $59.99, while the Digital Deluxe version is priced at $69.99.
