Fans who are into the simulation game "The Sims 4" might find their Sims to be reacting in some situations just like how the owners would in real life. Apparently, this is the result of a new patch that Electronic Arts recently rolled out.

According to the patch notes for the new update, patch 1.14.49.1020 released earlier this month not just improved the gameplay and design for "The Sims 4" but also tweaked the Sims themselves, at least in terms of behavior. Reportedly, the new update makes Sims behave more appropriately around the guests in their houses. As the notes stated, "We have modified the way in which Sims react to those acting inappropriately in their neighbors' homes. Beware, for you might find your Sim asked to leave if they get out of line."

Meanwhile, another "life-like" tweak has also been added: "We have also modified the behavior of Sims when a fight occurs. Your friends may cheer you on, but your enemies may cheer when you're down."

Apparently, the tweaks and improvements for "The Sims 4" to make Sims more life-like was started late last year. In an earlier note on "The Sims" website, an earlier update already tweaked the jealousy meter for the Sims, making them more emotional. This is to make the title more believable, and the continuous updates are part of the developers' initiative to make the characters behave like their owners would in real life.

The note added, "We set out to improve the reliability and responsiveness of Sims' Reactions. The Reactions system is what we use to make Sims aware of, and able to react to, things around them."

Meanwhile, aside from continuous tweaks to the Sims themselves, the updates also improve on the design and gameplay for "The Sims 4." The new patch also added new items such as wall decorations and movie posters, as well as various fixes to address game issues.
