It was announced by the CW network that the fifth and final season of "The Originals" will premiere this April. Season 5 will feature a time jump, with then 7-year-old Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell) now a teenager. Aside from the coming-of-age of Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley's (Phoebe Tonkin) hybrid daughter, the series will tackle the changes following the season 4 finale, particularly with the latter dealing with Elijah (Daniel Guilles) no having memories of her.

As reported by TVLine, the reunion of Hayley and Elijah in "The Originals" season 5 might be unevitable, but the viewers cannot expect that the two characters will have the same rapport that they had in the previous chapters. To recall, the season 4 finale revealed that Elijah chose to live a new life by removing the memories of his past, including those that he shared with Hayley when they were still a couple.

"The Originals" season 5 executive producer Julie Plec said that Elijah will go on with his life, without remembering that he was once a Mikaelson, a member of the ruthless original vampires. With this, the fans should not expect that the character will have the same relationship with others, especially when it comes to his previous romantic involvements. Without his memories, Elijah will be able to deal with the changes, but Hayley will have a rough time adapting to this new reality.

It is expected that Hayley will try to move on, but it will be obvious that she still loves Elijah very much. To cope up with the pain of losing Elijah, Hayley will enter a new romantic relationship with a human. It has yet to be seen if Hayley's new lover will be enough to make her get over her past. Meanwhile, Elijah will start a new life together with his new vampire friend, Antoinette, played by actress Jaime Murray.

"The Originals" season 5 will start on Friday, April 20, at 9 p.m. EST on the CW.
