"The Originals" season 5 is not expected to air until next year, but reports about the CW supernatural drama thriller's storyline have already surfaced. One of the most-awaited scenes in the upcoming season is the reunion of Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola King). As per the latest scoop, the characters will be having their reunion in Europe.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Caroline and Klaus's reunion in "The Originals" season 5 will not only be focused on a possible rekindling of their romance that began in the defunct TV series "The Vampire Diaries." This time around, Caroline will be sent to Europe by Klaus's sister, Rebekah Mikaelson (Claire Holt), to deliver some sort of intervention.
It is unclear what news will be delivered by Caroline to Klaus, although it seems that it will be a serious matter as she needs to head all the way to Europe to find his former beau. According to TV Guide, it makes sense that Rebekah cannot go to Europe and meet his brother due to The Hollow. To recap the previous season, the Mikaelson siblings became the hosts of The Hollow's malevolent spirit, and the only way to keep the evil locked forever is for the Original family of vampires to remain separated for the rest of their immortal lives.
The online publication speculated that Caroline might be bringing important news to Klaus regarding his hybrid daughter, Hope (Danielle Rose Russel). Although, there is also a possibility that Caroline is needed to bring Klaus back to his senses. It is likely that Klaus may have lost his humanity once again in Europe and goes on a rampage. According to the series' showrunner, Julie Plec, Caroline is the only person who can call out Klaus for his wrongdoings.
Meanwhile, International Business Times reported that Caroline will only appear in two episodes of "The Originals" season 5. So far, there are 10 confirmed episodes for the series, which will officially end in the upcoming season.
CW has not yet revealed an exact release date for "The Originals" season 5. Although, the series is expected to return early 2018.
