In the next episode of "The Middle," Sue Heck (Eden Sher) tells her mom Frankie (Patricia Heaton) that she kissed Sean Donahue (Beau Wirick).

The trailer for the upcoming installment, which is titled "New Year's Revelations," was just released recently, and it shows Sue recounting to her mom how she and Donahue kissed previously after their Christmas party. Apparently, they were outside on the benches when it happened, and both of them were caught in the moment.

Frankie listens so intently to Sue's story that she squeezes her glass too tight. It then suddenly breaks which shocks Sue, who asks with concern, "Are you alright?" Frankie just brushes the broken glass off her hands and says, "It's okay, just bleeding, keep talking." It seems that her cuts won't even divert her attention away from Sue's story.

After their heart-to-heart talk, Sue can't still believe that she is in love with her childhood friend. However, it seems that she is unsure of herself because she thinks that Donahue may not feel the same way about her. At the New Year's party in their home, they see each other from across the room. At the same time, the crowd of people starts counting down the clock to the New Year. It remains to be seen if they will kiss each other again when the clock strikes 12 to bring in 2018.

In the last episode, Donohue was upset that he got low grades because he wanted to enter medical school. He sat outside on the benches grieving, but Sue happened to pass by and comfort him. They talked for a while but later found themselves enthralled with each other that they kissed. That was the first time they had done that.

"The Middle" season 9 episode 11 will hit the airwaves on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
