"The Legend of Zelda" Wii U is supposed to arrive this year, but now that it's the second month of 2016, fans have yet to read official announcements on the game's release date.

Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime, mentioning Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto, already confirmed in an interview with IGN that "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U is part of the 2016 roster, despite not being showcased in Iast year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) conference.

With Fils-Aime's statement, fans are hanging on a hope that more details about the game will be dropped, but so far there's none. However, MoviePilot had its own speculations based on the teaser trailer released at a Nintendo Direct presentation in November last year.

With thorough analysis on the trailer, it was revealed that there is a world behind the hills. Popular landmarks were also spotted and fans can easily make out Death Mountain.

The teaser also showed that the overall "Legend of Zelda" Wii U game appears to be detailed, suggesting that players may have much better interaction with the game environment.

Looking for more clues, MoviePilot picked up the item that Link carries on his hip and it appears that it features the glowing Sheikah eye. Speculations point that the Sheikah may play an important role in the upcoming game.

The publication explained that the Sheikah, or Shadow Folk, are guardians of the Hylian Royal family featured in several Zelda games in the past. Either the Sheikah is one of the elements featured in the story, or they are the sole focus of the game.

"The Legend of Zelda" Wii U is just one of the many games that have a delayed release date. Many speculate that the delay is due to the ambitious game content that Nintendo wants the game to have.

Despite the delay, it's still obvious that fans are hanging on patiently because after all, it was indicated that it will arrive in 2016. At this point, any speculations about the game should be taken with a pinch of salt.
